The nearest airport is Puerto Vallarta International (PVR), about a 40-minute drive south of Sayulita. From there you can arrange a private transfer, take a taxi, or catch the Compostela-bound bus from the highway. Most guests find a pre-arranged transfer the easiest way to arrive with luggage. Once you're in town, Sayulita is compact and walkable — many of our rentals sit within a few blocks of the plaza and the beach.

Yes — nearly all of them. Most of our Sayulita condos and penthouses include access to rooftop, heated, or plunge pools, many with sweeping ocean and jungle views. You can see every pool-equipped stay across our destinations on our With Pool collection, or browse rentals chosen specifically for their views on the Ocean View collection. A standout is Aurea at Caivama, a two-bedroom ocean-view condo with a rooftop pool.

For families and groups, we recommend our multi-bedroom villas with private terraces and room to gather. Vista Magnifico at Caivama is a three-bedroom penthouse that sleeps eight, with a rooftop pool and a private plunge pool. For couples or solo travelers who want to be steps from the plaza, our downtown studios like Morro Nido Bungalow are an easy walk to everything.

Very walkable. The town center is a compact grid of cobblestone streets full of taco stands, galleries, boutiques, and rooftop bars, all a short stroll from the main beach. Sayulita is best known for its beginner-friendly surf, but you'll also find paddleboarding, snorkeling, jungle hikes, and day trips to the nearby village of San Pancho and the Marietas Islands. Most of our guests park the car and explore on foot the whole trip.

For the December-through-April high season, we recommend booking two to four months ahead — and even earlier for Christmas, New Year's, and Semana Santa, which are our most requested dates. Ocean-view and rooftop-pool units are the first to go. If your dates are flexible, midweek stays and early-December or late-April trips tend to offer better availability and value.
